How To Make Money Doing Surveys

If you find yourself spending a lot of your free time on the computer, you can probably do something to utilize it better. You’ve probably already seen some ads for websites that claim to help you make money from the Internet. The ways to achieve this differ, but taking surveys is surely one of the best ones. The idea is simple – companies need to do constant research to improve their products. The best source of material for that research is the public’s opinion. And what better way to gauge that opinion than surveys?

The benefits are numerous, both for you and the company:

  • You spend your free time earning money
  • You get to answer questions about products you use or like
  • You can set the time the way you want it to be
  • The company can improve their products
  • They don’t have to spend so much money on more expensive methods of research

As you can see, it’s a winning situation for both parties. However, to ensure that your opinion will be of any value to that company, they carefully select the participants, based on the information found in their profiles on survey websites. Which brings us to our next point.

Shape your profile accordingly

You need to make yourself look like a worthy candidate for a company’s survey. Writing that you don’t like soft drinks in your profile isn’t really a good way to attract Coca-Cola’s attention, for example. You need to think about your interests and expand on those as much as you can. For example, don’t say that you’re interested in video games, say that you’re interested in computers. Don’t say that you like full-corn bread, say that you’ve got great interest in food and cooking. The main idea is, generalize as much as you can so that you can display interest in more areas.

Screen out the surveys

At one point, you’ll start receiving a lot of offers for surveys. While this is normally good, you can’t do all of them so you’ll have to decide which ones you do want to take. Consider how much a given survey is paying, what it’s about, etc – in other words, value your time. Don’t waste it on surveys that won’t get you a lot of money, or ones that seem boring to you – because then you’ll take longer to do them.
